BEVERLY HILLS, CA - Next Saturday, September 6th, 2008 - One night, three films, for Cuba. The premiere screening of award winning films united to bring the real Cuba to America. The Free Cuba Film Series include three diverse films that transport audiences into the heart, soul and underbelly of Cuba, who Cubans are, and the eternal relationship to America that connects us all. The first film, Cuba's Love and Suicide, is a true love story set in Havana; the second film, Havana KidZ, is the kid's version of Buena Vista Social Club; the third film, Man of Two Havana's, delivers true accounts of the direct family relationship between U.S. politicians, Cuban terrorist and Fidel Castro. The evening is an entertaining, uplifting and educationally revealing experience. The films bring audiences into the real Cuba with their own eyes. THE FILMS. • Cuba's Love and Suicide, the movie: The first and only feature film in 50 years to be shot in Havana, Cuba by American filmmakers. A love story of a man who goes to Cuba and discovers the one thing between love and suicide. • Havana KidZ, a music documentary: Imagine the Buena Vista Social Club as kids. See the new generation of young Cuban musicians as they defy all obstacles to bring a new era of music to the world. • The Man of Two Havana's, a documentary film: Based on the life of journalist Max Lesnik. We journey into a true story of terrorism, deception, bombing and political warfare that still controls and destroys a country called Cuba. Vivian Lesnik Weisman, born in Cuba, raised in Miami during the epicenter of political warfare, bombings and murder attempts on her father journalist Max Lesnik while they lived in Miami. A graduate of Barnard College and New York Law School and M.F.A. in directing from UCLA School of Films and Television. Luis A. Moro, born in Cuba and escaped to Mexico as part of the Cuban exiled community. Winner of many film festival awards, Independent Spirit Award nominations and accredited writer. Has appeared on CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, Univision, Telemundo, Associated Press and more on current Cuban affairs. Alberto Gonzalez, New York born Cuban music producer. His family is dispersed around the world due to the effects of Cuban-American politics. Currently on the film festival circuit with Havana Kidz.
