Venezuela and Iraq sign agreements
The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, agreed on the necessity of strengthening the more of 200 agreements currently in force between both nations in the framework of strategic friendship, which is aimed to consolidate the concepts of complementarity and solidarity to benefit both countries. The information was made known through a press release emitted by the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs. The bilateral meeting between Maduro and Iranian President took place during the XV Non Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Meeting in Tehran. The also discussed about world situation and issues like the food crisis that is affecting a great number of countries. Maduro said to Ahmadinejad: “Currently, there is a Latin America freer and more sovereign because it has been growing like a development block.” Both of them ratified their anti-imperialist position and expressed the necessity of strengthening South-South cooperation. This is the kind of work that carries out the NAM, which constitutes an organ for fraternal and respectful conversations seeking a new plural world. “I keep the track of Bolivarian Revolution's achievements and I can assure that President Chávez is carrying out measures that benefit Venezuelan people and other countries of Latin America and the Caribbean”, said Ahmadinejad.
